Apple Pie Filling


Apple Pie Filling:
10 cups tart baking apples (I use Cortland and Macintosh)
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup + 2 tablespoons flour
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon


Directions:
Peel and slice apples (about 3/4 inch thick) into a large bowl.
Add all ingredients.
Stir with wooden spoon until apples are coated.
If using right away place into 9 inch crust, dot with 2 tablespoons butter.
Glass plates.. microwave for 15 minutes and bake at 425 for 30-35 minutes or until crust is golden and filling is bubbly.
Metal plates.. bake 425 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
